Revisions to Chapter HFS 133, Wisconsin Administrative
Code, Effective December 1, 2007
On December 1, 2007, several changes to Chapter HFS 133, Wisconsin
Administrative Code took effect.
The revisions were developed by staff from the Division of Quality
Assurance (DQA) in collaboration with the Home Care Advisory Committee
representing providers, consumers, and association representatives. The
revised Chapter HFS 133 eliminates rules that were overly prescriptive and
modifies rules to be consistent with federal regulations.
Other revisions were made to reflect current terminology and standards of
practice and to include standards promulgated in other statutes and
administrative codes since the last code revision in 2001. The rule was also
revised to recognize that Wisconsin now allows advanced practice nurse
prescribers to be the primary care providers for home health care patients.
The DQA memorandum listed below has been updated to be consistent with
the revised code, and will be available on the DQA internet site shortly.
