Wisconsin Emergency
Medical Service for Children (EMSC)
The
Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program is a national
initiative administered by the USDHSS Health
Resource Services Administration in partnership with the US Department of
Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The
Wisconsin EMSC program partners with the Wisconsin
Emergency Medical System Program and the State
Trauma Care Advisory Council to ensure that state of the art pediatric
emergency medical services are integrated into the overall EMS system, and
are accessible to all children.
The Wisconsin EMSC Advisory Committee:
The Mission
of the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Advisory
Committee is to improve young lives for big futures by promoting injury
prevention and reducing childhood death and disability. The missions will
be accomplished by achieving:

A state where all children and their families have equal and timely
access to state-of-the-art emergency care.

A state where a community of partners
applies evidence-based knowledge and resources to prevent childhood
illness and injury.

A state where all children receive a
continuum of family-centered, culturally-competent care.
Membership on the EMSC Advisory Committee membership
includes: pediatric and emergency / trauma care specialists (physicians,
nurses), emergency response staff, parents, a nurse affiliated with a
state-wide education program, a representative of the Wisconsin Hospital
Association, and several other State program directors. The

Meetings of the EMSC Advisory Committee are
held in conjunction with the Emergency
Medical Services Board and the State Trauma Advisory Council. For
